Lori Blois Vocal Studio

Lori Blois has lived in northern New Jersey for most of her life. She also resided in Boston for a short time. Lori claims French-Italian ancestry, as her family’s origins can be traced to the Blois Castle in the Loire Valley of France, before moving to Italy several generations ago.

Ms. Blois, who began teaching vocal technique more than 20 years ago, founded the Blois Vocal Studio in 1985. Since that time, she has instructed more than 1,000 singers of varying ages and abilities in a wide cross-section of vocal and musical styles. Thanks to her unique instructional methods - developed by a lifetime of professional singing experience and musical study - many of Lori’s students have gone on to sing professionally and some have even become voice teachers themselves.

Widely coveted on the NY/NJ club scene as a singer, Lori performed for numerous bands at such prestigious venues as The China Club in New York City and The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. Lori is accustomed to performing before huge crowds, including the Sunshine Awards celebrating Latin music at which Lori sang and danced before a crowd of many thousands as well as an international television audience. In addition, her bands have opened for such acts as the Dave Matthews Band, the Goo Goo Dolls, and the Pretenders. Lori’s voice can be heard on a number of professional recordings.

In addition to her private instruction at the Blois Vocal Studio, Lori teaches group seminars in vocal technique and music history at The County College of Morris (NJ). Lori is a member of several professional voice teacher associations including The Voice Foundation, based in Philadelphia, PA. Lori also gives lectures at various venues on topics dealing with music. She will be appearing at Franciscan Oaks in Denville, NJ, on Tuesday, August 19.

Lori now lives in Allamuchy, NJ, with her husband and son.
